On Friday November 10, Douglas Elementary School held our annual Veterans Day Program.   This was an opportunity for the students and staff to thank and honor all those who have served.   Principal Bobby Turner asked all Veterans to stand and personally thanked them for their service by stating, “Our nation’s defense is only as strong as the people who serve.”

Mr. Turner informed our Veterans that DES presented the Garden Club of Trenton with a $500 check to assist with the purchase a “Blue Star Memorial Highway Marker” in honor of our Veterans.  He also expressed to our students that this marker is to honor all who have served, those presently serving, and all those who will serve in the future, including some of our very own DES students currently in attendance today.

God bless our veterans and God bless the USA!
