Over 55 grandparents attended Douglas Elementary School’s ‘Grits for Grandparents’ event on September 13th.  Grandparents and their student(s) enjoyed a delicious breakfast of grits, sausage, toast, juice and milk. As the new principal of DES, Carolyn Campbell stated, “The number of grandparents that came to support their students was truly heartwarming. It is obvious that the families of DES are involved in their students’ school experience and dedicated to their success.”  Grandparents are among the most magnificent relations in the life of a child. DES enjoyed having grandparents on campus and look forward to seeing them at future school events.
